Gingerbread Houses

Sorry guys, we have totally neglected our blog. This is the start of catching up. They had a huge gingerbread house competition at Thanksgiving Point that we went to and these are the pictures of our favorites.

Tyler always comes up the the funnest things. I can see why its so important to have a Mommy and a Daddy. I know that our kids will have a lot more fun times because of him. He is such a great Dad! :)

This is how Malakai eats most of the time. It seems to be some kind of reflex, once we give him the bottle his hands go over his eyes. I think you can see in this picture that he is finally getting some hair.

Hiking Timp :)

Tyler> So some friends and I decided to hike timp last weekend, It was an awesome, beautiful 12 mile hike. We got a few pics while we were hiking. I wish we got a picture of the top from Emerald lake, but for some reason we did not take that picture, sorry. You will have to hike up there to see the top. A beautiful view of the valley while hiking up to Emerald lake.

We used our rocking chair footstool as a surf board, unfortunately we don't know how to change the video so that he is right side up. So tilt your head and enjoy the show. :)





I was trying to find a good way to feed him at Troy and Emily's house and I found it. He fell asleep while I was feeding him so I didn't even have to move him. He probably thought he was being held that whole nap, we need a couch shaped like that!

Kai update

We caught a fun moment today with Kai. We were shaking a toy in front of his face and he started laughing so we grabbed the camera. I know we are silly but hey, he is our first :).

Visiting the Bowles (in Portland)

Here is a video of the fun we had with Emilee, Eli, and Ivy in Portland. It was so fun to meet Ivy for the first time. We had lots of fun playing the wii(especially Dr Mario), going to Saturdays Market, going to the Portland Zoo, and having a photo shoot with the babies. They also had an awesome jogging path nearby so we could keep up on our running schedule for the 5k in October. We can't wait til we can see everyone in December.

On the News

So I was on the 10 o'clock news on Wednesday night along with many of my family members. My brother-in-law and his twin brother have opened Nucea Health and Fitness. A clinic/fitness center/shop. It is a really cool place, especially if you are really poor. We are hoping that the news coverage will help their business to become more well known and get the news out there. 3 Months and Rolling!

This morning a very exciting thing happened...Kai rolled over! I guess things always happen when you aren't expecting them. I put him on his stomach for tummy time and after about 15 seconds of grunting and wiggling he rolled over. So of course we grabbed the camera so we can show you all his new trick.

Here are 2 short clips of Kai training for his first 5k. He was doing this for about 15 min before we even got the camera. He is one busy little boy! My hope is that will mean he is tired enough to sleep good tonight.

Malakai's Blessing, Tyler's Birthday, and more!

I have a few events to post about this time, and just so you know this is not in order but it is all in the last little bit. This first picture is of Malakai and our friends(Jeff and Vicky) baby Justin who was just born July 8(on 7/8/09). The funny thing is Malakai isn't really a small baby for his age, but they are just about the same size. He was born 9lbs. 12oz.! It probably won't take long at all for him to become much bigger than Kai.This picture is Tyler's new Rocket Launcher Gun. Our brother-in-law has a Rocket Launcher Gun which he brought to the 4th of July party and everyone had lots of fun shooting off their homemade paper rockets. Tyler had so much fun that he decided he wanted to go buy all of the parts and make one for himself. Which we brought to Tyler and Troy's birthday party and Tyler got to show his new toy off. He also got a new blackberry, which he actually got for free with a 2 year upgrade. Shortly after Malakai was born(when both of our brains were much more sleep deprived than they are now) Tyler accidently put his blackberry in the washer and that was the end of that. Luckily we found a great deal at Wal-Mart and he was able to get another one.

Malakai's Blessing went very well. We planned for extra time and I was able to get him sleeping by the time Sacrament came around and he slept through the whole blessing and all of Sacrament. He also did not ruin his outfit and he was actually pretty good for the lunch afterwards. This is a cute picture of Grandma, Papa, and Kai.

I know its pretty late for this but I decided to put up a few pictures from 4th of July at my parents house.

Katie caught a lot of the rockets that were shot off. I think thats pretty impressive. Tyler got a picture of her right as she was catching one.

This is one of my favorite pictures, Tyler went to put the binky in his mouth and Malakai bit the side of it! Tyler tried to put it in the right way but he wouldn't let go of it. He sat there biting it for about 10 minutes. He hasn't done it again so we are not sure where that came from. Ha ha.

Malakai Aiden Gerber is here!! :)

Beccah had her last day of work at the Library on friday. At around 9:00 that same night she went into labor and had Malakai at 9:05 Saturday morning(Perfect timing). He is 7 lbs 6 oz and 20 inches long. We really enjoy having a new baby around the house. We have many new and exciting adventures which include getting to know Malakai, seeing how well we can function without sleep, changing diapers, dodging pee, finding new ways to entertain Malakai while trying to rest our eyes, lots of visitors, making sure he is well nourished, getting stuff done around the house, and many more.


We are very blessed that Malakai is in our lives and we love him very much, we enjoy many new activities like spending time getting ready for a visit with the midwife, hanging out, doing the dishes, or going for a ride in the car.

38 Weeks

Hey everyone, here are some updated pictures of me at 38 weeks. My belly is huge! I really don't think I can get much bigger. Everything is going well. At my 38 week prenatal I measured at 37 so I would be really surprised if he came on time, but you really never know. Everything else is good, his heartbeat is strong and he is head down. So all that is left is to wait a little while longer before I get to meet my baby! I'm really excited!
