Because I didn't bring all of my kitchen stuff for the summer, there is a completely empty cupboard that I told Malakai was his cupboard, in an effort to not play in the other ones. He regularly climbs into the cupboard and asks me to close the door, then we play "Where did Kai Kai go?". Today he was figuring out how to open and close the drawer from the inside. He did this the entire time we made and ate lunch.

Looks like you have ghosts--or a toddler. I bet he loves having his own cupboard. And I love anything that will entertain them enough so you can eat.
